Annual fundraising for scholarships

Fundraising for scholarships continues to be Georgetown’s top priority. Strengthening our capacity to attract and support the best students from all backgrounds, regardless of their financial situation, is an essential part of Georgetown’s mission and touches on all four of our campaign commitments.

Beginning in FY20, giving restricted exclusively to core financial aid has fallen somewhat as the University expanded its emphasis on ways for donors to support the full scope of the student experience and thriving at Georgetown. This includes student success programs such as the Community Scholars Program and the Georgetown Scholars Program, which in late 2022 met its ambitious goal to endow the GSP Necessity Fund at $20 million. Overall, donor support for students at Georgetown continues to rise year-over-year.

A Testimonial

Andrew Swank (SFS’26)

“This scholarship has absolutely changed my life. Georgetown was always my dream school, but the price of tuition always made that dream unlikely. After I was admitted to Georgetown, my family was really worried about paying for my school, especially because my parents are getting close to retirement. We’re all incredibly thankful, and we cannot thank you enough. Getting a college education is incredibly important to us, and we’re all so happy that I can do that at my dream school.”
