Annual fundraising for scholarships

Fundraising for scholarships continues to be Georgetown’s top priority. Strengthening our capacity to attract and support the best students from all backgrounds, regardless of their financial situation, is an essential part of Georgetown’s mission and touches on all four of our campaign commitments.

In FY20, giving restricted exclusively to core financial aid began to decrease somewhat because the University identified new ways for donors to support the full scope of the student experience and thriving at Georgetown. These include student success programs such as the Community Scholars Program and the Georgetown Scholars Program, which in late 2022 met its ambitious goal to endow the GSP Necessity Fund at $20 million. Overall, donor support for financial aid and related student programs at Georgetown continues to rise year-over-year.
